At the time of Russian withdrawal of influence from the former Czechoslovakia, a number of partially complete nuclear power stations were left with inadequate documentation and outdated design features, unacceptable to the nuclear energy authorities of the Western world.
The clients’ problem was to produce proper as-built information efficiently and make necessary design modifications. The clients' solution was to complete and upgrade the power plant using videogrammetric surveys of the plants, which can be routinely queried from straightforward PC “desktop” software. HAZMAP technology was employed, which utilises videogrammetric techniques to rapidly capture large areas of industrial plant, and produces an image archive that can be viewed as and when required.
