Surveying on the white-water rapids of the River Nile in Uganda

Surveying on the white-water rapids of the River Nile in Uganda

The complications and obstacles generated by the fast flowing white-water, required a large, highly skilled and experienced survey team. The remote location and challenging conditions meant that survey equipment and techniques had to be modified and adapted on site.

The objective was to produce a preliminary survey on the upper reaches of the River Nile. The main problems were restricted access and the presence of numerous rapids (The site was actually a commercial white water-rafting course).
