The Clear Cone Survey System is researched, developed and patented by Longdin & Browning. It is known as Vangarde in USA. It enables a high precision survey of a highway surface which the Clear Cone vehicle can complete while positioned on a highway hard shoulder, eliminating the need for lane closures.

Accuracy – Tested and approved by the UK Transport and Road Research Laboratory and Departments of Transport in Europe and the USA. The System consistently produces pavement levels to better than +/-5mm

Clear Cone is a non-contact system. It is capable of measuring surface levels without physical contact with the survey point. Therefore the survey can be completed from the safety of the van.

Accurate pavement levels are observed through moving traffic. Points that are conventionally difficult to survey, such as bridge soffit levels, are now easily available.

Survey control is established at the same time as detail observations, making the system a ‘one-pass’ operation.

Information is presented in a format compatible with most CAD systems.
