History

The original partnership of Grieves and Longdin was established in 1965 in Llanelli (South Wales). Following the departure of Maurice Grieves in 1970, Derek Browning joined, forming Longdin & Browning, and began the process of supplying global quality measurement services.

Offices were established at various locations in the UK, Middle East and USA to follow changes in global demand, with teams being mobilised to over 65 countries.

Projects have varied in size and complexity, ranging from a survey of a school premise’s, to a 1,000km railway line survey in Iraq; and from a railway bridge survey, to an as-built survey of a North American oil rig.

Today L&B are represented in many countries and are a major shareholder in As-Built Solutions Ltd, the HAZMAP developer.
