Our team have returned from an exciting trip to Uganda. The plan was to replace an existing track from Kabale to Kisoro with a newly resurfaced road - more suited to Mercedes trucks – and extend it onto the border with Rwanda and the Congo – a total of 110kms.
Our relationship with Canterbury City Council has spanned over the last five years due to longstanding Coastal monitoring projects. This relationship has resulted in them awarding us with a further two contracts which demonstrates their faith in our ability. In addition to this Teignbridge District Council have also awarded us with two contracts on the South Devon and Cornwall coastlines.
A high precision topographic survey of the motorway and interchanges was required. Road levels were to be surveyed to 5mm accuracy with the proviso that ‘live lane' closures on the M50 were not permitted for cost and safety reasons. As a result of this restriction SACYR awarded the contract to Longdin and Browning who used their innovative patented Clear Cone system to survey live carriageways from the hardshoulder.
