Crossrail Limited (CRL) is tasked with promoting and developing a new railway route called Crossrail through London (West-East) from Maidenhead and Heathrow via Paddington, Liverpool Street and Stratford to Shenfield, and via Canary Wharf, Woolwich ending at Abbey Wood.
CRL have commissioned various surveys from Longdin and Browning since 1992 to further the design of the Crossrail Project. Tasks carried out by Longdin & Browning have included 3D modelling of London Underground stations, measured building surveys, photographic elevations of buildings and Hazmap Surveys of Network Rail stations. More recently L & B have verified and provided additional precision horizontal and vertical survey control from which future monitoring and setting out will be carried out across the CRL Project.

We only have a few survey companies on our approved list of suppliers and, given a choice for large projects like motorway widenings, L&B are always on the tender list if not simply appointed. Using their unique Clearcone system they deliver surveys on time to the required accuracy. We have also been impressed and used extensively their new Clearview image product.”
